Would you date someone who had previously dated one of your friends?

Yes! I'm perfectly happy to date my friend's exes. They're exes for a reason.
No! It's too incestuous. I don't feel comfortable dating a friend's ex.
Maybe Yes: I haven't had the opportunity, but I don't see a problem with it.
Maybe No: I haven't done it, but I don't think I would.

Answer
Be glad that you have two sets of in-laws that love you and the feeling is mutual! However, too much of a good thing can get overwhelming. Remember that they want to offer advice because they love you, not because they want to control your parenting life, although it may seem that way at times. You can answer their advice by saying "thank you so much for suggesting that, but i think i'm going with purple shoes for Easter. Boy, I sure am glad to have you around - you are really a fantastic grandmother" and then follow it up with a question that encourages more advice like "hey while we are on the subject where would you suggest i go shopping for Easter shoes?" This way you have politely indicated that you are not always going to take their advice, but you are glad they are around and you will ask when you need help. Remember you will never stop them from offering advice all the time, but learn to delight in it and be glad for the love. Good luck! Hopefully your inlaws will see that you are an excellent parent with or without their advice!
