I've recently started going out with this really nice girl from my college. We hang out together and generally have a great time.

Now here's the problem:
So, Valentine's Day is approaching and she's making a huge deal out of it. She's majorly annoyed about the fact that I wont be in town on the 14th. I'm an avid, hardcore biker and I have a reallyyy important Club meet to attend with fellow bikers. It's a 3 day event and it just happens to coincide with Valentine's Day. I WANT to attend the conference but my girl wants me to NOT go and spend time with her instead.

What do you think I should do now? My girl is important to me, but I really wish to make it to the event.

Why can't you celebrate it on the 13th or 15th when you will be home? I know how important Valentine's Day is to girls, so go to your event, but make sure she get's a surprise from you on Valentine's day. Then surprise her with something really nice and maybe take her out to dinner when you return. She should understand that there are other important things in your life if you really are that important to her. Good luck.
